Last night, Miss Rhode Island Olivia Culpo was crowned Miss Universe 2012. Culpo is a 20-year-old sophomore at Boston University but who cares. The real star of the show was Miss Venezuela Irene Sofia Esser Quintero who gave the most beautiful answer during the Q&A portion of the event. Her question, courtesy of judge Diego Boneta, was, “If you could make a new law, what would it be and explain why?”
It was pretty obvious English wasn’t her first language since she had to have the question translated for her but, bless her heart, Miss Venezuela tried her best to answer in English in an attempt to pander to the audience. As you can probably guess, it went great. Her response:
I think that any leys that are in constitution or in life are already made. I think that WE should have, ah, straight way to go in our similar or, eh, in… in our lives, haw say dis, for example, I am a surfer and I think that the best way that I can take is the wave that I wait for it. So… please? Do our only, eh, low that we can do. Thank you Vegas!
Thank you Miss Venezuela. I have no idea what the f**k you just said but I’m sure that even in your native tongue it made absolutely no sense at all.
